Roles of Floating Islands in Aqueous Environment Remediation: Water Purification and Urban Aesthetics

Floating islands have been commonly utilized for the ecological remediation of urban waters; meanwhile, they are beneficial to landscape decoration and beauty improvement. Therefore, this work was conducted analyze roles floating in water purification, aesthetics, potential association. Based on this, different plant-based were constructed employed treatment lake water, biochar as fillers coordination capacity enhancement, which fulfilled synergism plants, biochar, attached microbes. Furthermore, specific effects improvement aesthetics analyzed from perspectives, corresponding thinking proposed designing optimization, including plants collocation, spatial layout, cultural background, contact with nature. This offers a new insight into construction realize purification strengthen landscapes, thus improving living environment quality human beings whole.
